The Carlisle Passive House will be breaking ground in the spring. The house will have 7059 square feet of usable living space. We are using 96 certified passive house KlearWall windows with St Gobin glazing. These windows are triple glazed and have R values of 9.46 ft2 f/btu for the glazing and 7.69 ft2 f/btu for the wood frames. The Solar heat Gain Coefficient for these windows is .61. The total Specific Heat Demand for the house is 4.27 kbtu/ft2 year. The Specific Cooling Demand will be .71 kbtu/ft2 year. The house, even with seasonal 90 shades will overheat 15% of the time. (the owner will have to crack a window on some sunny winter days)This project will be submitted for PHIUS certification.
